Man taken to hospital after Oshkosh police shooting at Fleet Farm

OSHKOSH – An Oshkosh police officer shot a man who authorities say had a handgun at Fleet Farm on Sunday morning, May 10, and the man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers were dispatched about 8 a.m. to Fleet Farm at 177 N. Washburn St. for a report of an armed man, the Oshkosh Police Department said.

Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public and they do not believe any other suspects were involved.

Wisconsin DOJ investigating officer-involved shooting

Investigators with the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation are leading the investigation. The officer has been placed on paid administrative leave, per department policy.
